I must admit to being a little apprehensive about using Spechaus at first because I couldn't try the frames on that I wanted to try like you can in the shop, to get feel for them. I know they offer an "artificial try on" via their website with most frames but it's not the same. However, I needn't have been worried. I picked the ones I liked the look of, also picked a 2nd pair, complete with the online discount (2n pair were sunglasses), both with varifocal lenses, uploaded my eye test prescription along with my order and paid. Within 8 working days, the order had been received, checked, made didn't need any queries whatsoever and both pairs of glasses were back with me at home, perfectly & safely packaged & delivered! And I love them both! Fantastic service & I will definitely be using you again. Fabulous savings compared to the high street opticians too. Having recently updated my glasses from my regular Opticians I was disappointed with the price plus I had to return them to be altered. Very easy to order using the simple process . Good range of frames in different styles and sizes . The price was incredibly low . The glasses arrived quickly and very well packaged and protected. Tracking on package was good too . I did have an initial problem but it was owned and sorted very quickly, politely and efficiently. I’m very pleased with my glasses and frame quality . Cost me about 1/3 of the price I paid from an optician recently. I would highly recommend trusting these guys and ordering them.

I was impressed with the price offered by Spechaus but wary of how the quality would be. I ordered a set of varifocal sunglasses and when they arrived I was instantly impressed with the weight and quality of the frames. The lenses were thinned down and perfect. After a week I decided to order another pair with clear lenses. These arrived and were just as good as the sunglasses. I would definitely recommend Spechaus and will use them next time I need glasses.

I have spent years buying my glasses from a high street store. This was my first time with SpecHaus and I absolutely love them. It was so easy to order and when they arrived I was over the moon. I’m going to get another style and treat myself
I had been looking for new varifocals for a while and although many companies try to lure you in with their offers, once you have added the lenses you aren’t saving much and may as well go to the major high streeet retailers. I noticed an advert on FB for Spechaus and after some research decided to test them out for some sunglasses. I chose frames similar to ones I had, checked the sizes and uploaded the prescription from my last eye test. I got 10% off as a new customer and when I received them I wished I had gone straight for the two pairs with 30% off the second pair. I gave it a week and decided to order clear glasses, using another 10% off code. They arrived in 10 days and again I am so impressed with the quality of both the frame and the thinned lenses. I won’t be needing any new glasses for a while (hopefully) but I will certainly be recommending Spechaus to my family and friends.
I am absolutely delighted with my new Kimberley frames. I have a high varifocal prescription but these are perfect. The frames are a little different to my normal style, but they are great. Really solid and well made and the thinning of the lenses is spot on. My last frames from a well known optician were way more than double the price of these and I am way more satisfied with my SpecHaus glasses. No blurring with these varifocals unlike the high street glasses I wasted my money on. Charlie, I really admire what you’re doing with SpecHaus. It’s an industry that needs a kick up the bum! I bought because I was curious, but I will come back for more because the product and service has been excellent!

Wow just wow I wish I had not purchased my extremely expensive glasses from a well known company now as these are so good and so much cheaper! As soon as I put them on I could see in HD and the varifocals are Splendid a good range of area covered. Delivery was quicker too so a win, win for me. Will be getting sunglasses next ! I’ve been following SpecHaus for a while on TikTok. I was told I needed varifocals at my eye appointment this year, but when quoted £694, I couldn’t justify that amount of money. So I decided to try SpecHaus as a first time user of varifocals as the price difference was amazing. £197.00 I went for the Blaine frame, with brown transitions, and thinned lenses to 1.67. I am over the moon, from the ease of ordering to quick delivery. The quality of the glasses are amazing. I also love all the little extras you get, the instructions on how to adjust to varifocals, cleaning cloth and thank you card. A brilliant service. Well done SpecHaus.
I was a little unsure at first, having a rather complex prescription which requires the lenses to be thinned because of the weight, but I took the chance and placed an order. I was very surprised at how quickly my order was processed and delivered within 2 weeks even though I was advised there had been a quality issue and my specs had to be re made. When I received my order, the specs were so well packed, it was like a one person game of "pass the parcel" to get the packaging opened. When I tried the specs on, I found them to fit firmly thanks to the spring mechanism on the temples and soon accustomed my vision to them as I am used to varifocals. With this being a complex prescription, I have always had to pay a higher price, so I was happily surprised when billed for £162 considering my regular optician would have charged almost £700 as was the case with my last pair. Outstanding quality and service—I'm a customer for life! After 45 years of wearing glasses, I can honestly say these are by far the best pairs I have ever owned. Having an astigmatism and needing high-index varifocals (which I've worn for over 20 years), I was very dubious about ordering online. I had always bought from high street opticians, routinely paying well over £450 for a single pair once the lenses were thinned down. It took me a while to pluck up enough courage to try SpecHaus, but I am so glad I did. I ordered three pairs: an everyday varifocal, a pair of varifocal sunglasses, and an intermediate pair for work. The optical quality and frame craftsmanship on every single pair are absolutely amazing. To top it off, customer service was top-notch. I emailed late one weekend evening with a query, fully expecting to wait until the working week for a response. I was blown away when I got a helpful reply within 10 minutes! If you're on the fence about ordering online, don't hesitate. SpecHaus has completely won me over, and I'll certainly be getting all my glasses from them in the future.

When you reach the lens selection step, simply choose a higher index lens for a thinner, lighter result. The stronger your prescription, the more noticeable the difference a higher index makes.

Because all prescription, reading, and blue-light glasses are custom-made with lenses glazed specifically for you, they are non-refundable unless there is a fault or error.

Please note that because your lenses are custom-glazed to your prescription, exchanges are for frames only — the lenses from your original order cannot be reused if the new frame has a different lens shape.

We use optimised fitting heights calculated from each frame's dimensions — the same method used by all online eyewear retailers. Eyes naturally adapt to new varifocals over a short period of time anyway. If you have any concerns, our team is always happy to help.
If your vision doesn't feel right in your new glasses, we'll remake your lenses for free. Wear them daily for two weeks first, as new prescriptions and varifocals can take time to adjust to. If they still don't feel right, email us with your order number within 30 days of delivery. The guarantee covers one lens remake per order placed from 30 September 2026. It doesn't cover new prescriptions, damage or frame changes, which are available through our frame exchange at 50% of the original order value.
